The Company, which is based in Alexandra Parade in Weston-super-Mare, has had a very successful first year and is now expanding by taking on two new staff members.

Andrew Maxwell, who has just joined the team, has 30 years experience of commercial insurance broking, working with national and local clients. He is particularly experience in the Leisure, Small Business and Motor Trade sectors.

The other new team member is Gavin Hughes, who is ACII LLB qualified. He spent 13 years with Allianz Insurance in Bristol followed by ten years of dealing with Clients and Brokers in Gloucestershire. He has a wealth of underwriting experience and will develop a wholesale broker division, which will further strengthen the Marsh & Company team.

The Commercial Insurance Division of Regency is celebrating 26 years in business this month and will continue to trade as Regency Commercial Insurance Brokers. The Commercial Business has now been incorporated into Marsh & Company, a similar, independent, family-orientated business whose roots date back to 1972.

Group Managing Director Rob Marsh has been working closely with Regency Chairman Kerry Michael for a number of years. In addition to running the Broking business he also negotiated the insurance of Weston’s Grand Pier.

This iconic building required specialist insurance knowledge which Marsh & Company were able to provide, particularly with regard to handling the recent fire loss, which Marsh & Company played an active role in settling.

Kerry and Michelle Michael are Consultants to the Insurance Business and work closely with the new Managing Director and the team.

As Independent Brokers Marsh & Company has large buying powers in the insurance market place. Regency Commercial Insurance Brokers now has even greater access to a large number of Insurers with exclusive policies and competitive premiums.

Regency are pleased to announce that Mike Rugman, who has been with the Company for over 8 years, has been appointed Director of Operations.

In addition to the operations role, Mike continues to service existing clients and works closely with Chris McLaughlin, our New Business Executive. Chris joined the Company twelve months ago, coming from a large national broking firm and he also services existing clients.

Mike Rugman and Chris work closely with the new Group Managing Director, Robert Marsh, concentrating on existing clients and new business development.

The existing team of five, headed by Mike is, therefore, very much open for business and we look forward to being of continued service to Weston-super-Mare and the South West.
